Size of the tub
A two seat plug-in tub is a quick job. A seven seat tub or swim spa takes longer and may need more hands.
HOT TUBS & SPAS · WORTHING
Old hot tub sitting dead in the garden? Our hot tub removal and disposal service takes it away for one fixed price. We dismantle it where it stands, carry it out through tight gates, take the cover and steps too, and recycle what we can. Licensed waste carrier, local Worthing team.

Yes. Our hot tub removal service covers hard shell hot tubs, spas, swim spas and inflatable tubs from homes and holiday lets across Worthing and West Sussex. Send us two or three photos showing the tub and the route to the road, and we will give you a fixed price before anything is booked.
Show us the tub, its rough size and the narrowest point on the way out, usually a side gate, steps or a passage. We confirm the price and a date.
Stop the chemicals a few days before, drain it to a foul drain, and have an electrician isolate the supply. Plug-in tubs just need unplugging.
If it fits through the gate we tilt and wheel it out whole. If not, we strip the cabinet, remove the pumps and heater, and cut the shell into sections on site.
Everything goes on our own vehicle the same visit. Timber, metal and electrical parts are separated for recycling and the rest goes for licensed disposal. We sweep up before we leave.
Our hot tub removal starts from £200. That covers a standard hard-shell tub with reasonable access. A large tub, a swim spa or a garden with tricky access costs more, which is why we price it from your photos.
We give you one fixed price for the whole job: dismantling, carrying, loading, transport and licensed disposal. No hourly rate, no tip fees added afterwards and no charge for taking the cover and steps.
Ways to keep the cost down: drain the tub before we arrive, have the electrics disconnected and clear the route to the road. Add any other garden rubbish, old decking or furniture to the same visit so you only pay for one trip.
A full hot tub holds over a tonne of water, and even drained a typical four to six seat tub still weighs around 300kg. Most are about two metres square, while a normal side gate is only about 90cm wide.
Councils will not take them as a bulky collection, and a skip only works once the tub has been cut up by hand. The shell is a mix of acrylic, fibreglass and foam, so it cannot just go in general waste. That is why most people call a team who does the cutting, carrying and sorting in one visit.
We quote a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day. These are the things that change it:
A two seat plug-in tub is a quick job. A seven seat tub or swim spa takes longer and may need more hands.
Wide side access means we can take it whole. Narrow gates, steps, slopes or a long carry mean dismantling it on site.
Cutting a tub into sections takes time and proper safety kit, but it is often the only way out of a back garden.
Decking, a timber gazebo, a concrete base or an old cover lifter can all go in the same visit if you tell us first.
If you are not sure about any of these, send a message on WhatsApp and we will talk you through it.
Timber or composite panels and the metal frame are separated for recycling.
Electrical parts and cabling are recycled as WEEE where possible.
The acrylic and fibreglass shell and the insulation foam go for licensed disposal.
Our hot tub removal starts from £200. The final price depends on the size of the tub, how far it has to be carried and whether it has to be cut up on site. Send us photos of the tub and the route out to the road on WhatsApp and we will give you a fixed price before we book.
Yes, please. Switch off the chemicals a few days before, then drain it into a foul drain or gully, not a surface water drain. A drained tub is still a few hundred kilos, so leave the lifting to us.
No. Most hot tubs are hardwired to their own protected circuit. Please have a qualified electrician isolate and disconnect the supply before the day. Plug-in tubs just need unplugging.
Often, yes. A standard side gate is about 90cm wide and most tubs are wider. If it will not fit, we cut it into sections where it stands and carry the pieces out.
We separate it as we load. The timber or composite cabinet, metal frame, pumps, heater and cabling are sorted for recycling where possible, and the remaining acrylic, fibreglass and foam goes for licensed disposal.
Yes. Tell us when you book and we will take the cover, cover lifter, steps and any old decking or timber surround in the same visit.
Rarely. We cut the tub into sections where it stands, so it can go out through a gate, a house or down steps without lifting it over anything. A crane is only needed if a tub has to leave in one piece and there is no way round, and we will tell you honestly if that is the case.
Only if it still works and someone wants it. A working tub can sometimes be sold or given away if the buyer collects. A broken or old hot tub costs money to dismantle and dispose of legally, and councils do not collect them, so be wary of anyone offering free removal with no licence.
You can, but it is a big job. You need to drain it, have the electrics disconnected and strip the cabinet. Then you cut the shell with a reciprocating saw, wearing a proper dust mask, and make several trips to the tip with sorted loads. Most people find a professional removal is quicker and not much dearer once tip runs and tool hire are counted.
Yes. Inflatable and portable spas are quicker and usually cheaper to collect. Drain and deflate it if you can and we will take the liner, pump and cover.
Yes. D J Recycling is an Environment Agency registered upper tier waste carrier, licence CBDU389101. Always check this, because if an unlicensed collector fly-tips your tub, you can be held responsible.
